Dave Murchie

Dave Murchie is another Commando who responded to a local plea for models.

He was intensely enthusiastic from the outset, and I was interviewing him in person, post phone call within the hour.  What struck me immediately about Dave was his very open mind, and enthusiasm for art in general (a fact that takes any potential model far in my eyes!) He is keen to learn from the various processes he must go through to be a bona fide Godward model - from photography, to live posing (one day he may learn to bloody well sit still!) - with a keen interest in the results at every stage.

I organised a shoot with Dave for our earliest mutual convenience, and he was in continual communication regarding props, costumes and what would be expected from him both from the photographer, and myself. For this aspect alone, he gets my wholehearted recommendation. Dave is also in possession of a killer brow, ice blue eyes and a cheeky grin that is entirely infectious.  In great physique, with the added bonus of height. I do anticipate working with Dave a fair whack, and do keep an eye out for a series of life drawings based on him.

Since the start of my travelling days I have seen so much and it has opened my eyes to the world of art.  Since then I have wanted to
express my ideas in art or photography but never knew how to begin.

Not until I saw Katriona's poster advertising for models... whom I immediately contacted. Right from the beginning Kat made me feel welcome and brought a sense of comfort and ease to work with.  I have had no experience in being a model but with Kat's firm work ethics and gentle guidance she made it a relaxing but productive experience for me. Her ideas are off the hook and wild, which makes her unique and stand out from the rest - her art work and drawings are on par with, if not above the best.

As for the future I look forward to working with Kat and I also hope to be her student, learning from whom I feel is the best I have seen.
